BEHIND THE BRAND

Follow The Magpie is a story-led design studio founded by me, Kay.

I create small-batch brass adornments designed to be worn, collected and lived with. Bold in form yet rooted in symbolism, each piece begins with a story, drawing inspiration from folklore, nature and the meanings we attach to everyday objects.

Every design starts as an original illustration before being transformed into a contemporary talisman. Accompanied by a short note explaining its symbolism, each piece carries a narrative that can be worn close or interpreted in a personal way.

I work in solid brass for its warmth, honesty and ability to age beautifully. Over time it develops a natural patina, recording touch, wear and environment, allowing each piece to become unique to the person who wears it.

Designed to elevate simple dressing, these are statement pieces intended to become part of a personal uniform — worn with a favourite coat, pinned to a well-loved knit, or layered as a focal point within an otherwise understated wardrobe.

The name Follow The Magpie comes from folk tradition and the bird's instinct to gather what glints; collecting the precious, the curious and the overlooked.
